DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF LAW (CIVIL LAW SECTION)

The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Professor Sophie Thériault as Dean of the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section for a term beginning June 18, 2026, and ending June 30, 2031.
Sophie Thériault is full professor at the Civil Law Section of the Faculty of Law and co-chair of the Senate Committee on Academic Freedom. Since January 1, 2025, Professor Thériault has served with distinction, rigour and strong leadership as Interim Dean of the Civil Law Section. Her career within the faculty also reflects a remarkable commitment to academic excellence, research, and program development. She
